HOME INTERIOR TRENDS AW 2015

Purple Area: Home Sweet Home - höstinspiration från Madam Stolz 2011

We're a couple of days away from autumn and with the change in weather people are less concerned with their summer holidays and wardrobe and focusing on their home. With this in mind and the arrival of our stunning AW15 collection we felt it was the perfect time to put together some of the latest home interior trends for your inspiration.
With my Autumn buying trips starting next week I have been searching interior magazines, instagram, blogs and pinterest for what's hot and on trend right now. I have to say since opening Home & Pantry over four years ago this has to be my favourite season to date. We have seen a major shift from French, vintage and opulent interior styles to clean monochrome and natural interiors enhanced with splashes of metallic, deep greens, blues and blush.

LATEST HOME INTERIOR TRENDS 2015

CLEAN GREENS - Monochromes mixed with green plants, succelent and accessories:
Big, bold and beautiful indoor trees and plants, succelents, and palm prints is a major interior trend this season, and I absolutely love it. Plants and green add life, bold statement and creativity to a monochrome styles which ordinarily can often be too lifeless, simple and clean. Reflecting the rustic chic trend of the last 12 months, it allows you to mix modern monochromes with vintage rustic plants accessories. Introduce it more calmly through cushions, prints and wall art. Rich, dark greens, mixed with dramatic moody blues and blacks give an exotic feel to any home. ELLE Decoration UK's September issue is simply stunning and great for inspiration. Blush:
Blush pink is normally a colour we place in bedrooms or nurseries. However we are seeing a growth in demand for blush home accessories, soft furnishings and 'Antoinette' pink which is Annie Sloan's infamous furniture paint.. A reason for this colour being so on trend is its ability to soften rustic and monochrome interiors, two trends which have dominated for the last two years.

Metallics:
Gone is shiny new stainless steel, yuk...! We are all obsessing about distressed brass and copper. Again they work well into the current trends (especially deep greens, navys and blush) adding character and charm. Don't go over board, just a couple of pieces is ever enough and pick one or the other, I don't think mixed metals in one room works. Add one feature piece like a light fitting or coffee table and accentuate with smaller pieces like lanterns, t-lights, vases or hooks.

Statement Prints:
We have noticed some of our interior suppliers now stocking a small collection of statment prints. These are an affordable way of making your own personal statment in your home. Vintage markets and auctions are also great places to source prints or why not get creative and make your own. Mixing a few styles on one wall also looks great. See below for inspiration.

Our new favourite city. The best places to visit in stockholm

Stockholm | One of the best cities in Europe

I have always admired the Swedish for their stunning looks and edgy polished style but I've never thought to visit Sweden. With the growth of Scandinavian interior trends in recent years when presented the opportunity to visit Stockholm for a buying trip, we jumped at it.

Myself and Islington Store Manager Sarah, arrived into the old town off a late flight and we immediately fell in love. Fairy lights and hanging lanterns lit up the cobbled streets of beautiful old buildings. We dropped our bags off in our rustic beamed chalet room at Hotel Sven and went in search of a bite to eat. Being late on a Wednesday evening and with not much sign of life about we thought we were clutching at straws. On the corner of the next street we spotted a bustling Parisian style bistro with glittering chandeliers, candelabras and red velvet seating sat. Hallelujah was right, it was warm, cozy, beyond full of atmosphere, and after finishing off a bottle of house red and the waiters recommended gnocchi we were even more in love with this little gem. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I would travel back to Stockholm for this place alone.

After an amazing nights sleep, a delicious breakfast and a chat we our lovely host we headed off to her favourite and recommended shopping spots around Biblioteksgatan. One of the nicest things about Stockholm apart from their beyond friendly habitants is the sense of tranquility and ease to this city. Having been on many mini breaks in Europe for both work and pleasure I cannot think of one which was as easy to get around or where you can walk everywhere.

I'm not Normally one for taking pictures but I could not resist the urge to get my phone out at every opportunity to take more pictures, one street was more gorgeous than the next.                   Image: Old Town Stockholm

Our final stop after a long day walking was another amazing find - Kaffekoppin. We were starving, cold and dying for something cozy and comforting.
Kaffokopin delivered. It had candles lit everywhere, fairy lights and the most delicious home cooked food.

People always talk about Paris being the most romantic city in the world. My view is they only think this because they haven't been to Stockholm. Stockholm is definitely my new favourite city, it is so charming, magical, friendly and I literally cannot wait to return.

CAMDEN PASSAGE SHOPPING...

Camden Passage in Angel Islington is often described as one of London's best kept secrets for an afternoon stroll of shopping and dining. This unique shopping destination holds some of the most famous vintage stores, artisans and interiors stores in the country. The cobbled streets are constantly evolving and in recent years have attracted some amazing restaurants, cafes, lifestyle boutiques, and quirky specialists that keep the street bustling all through the week.

The Camden Passage antiques market is famous and you may often see it appearing on TV shows. The market is in full swing on Wednesdays and Saturdays, making it the best time to soak in the full atmosphere of the street. Our Market Favourites: 'Emse' For stunning vintage jewellery & 'Four & Twenty Blackbirds' for vintage clothes and treasures.
Home & Pantry opened its doors on Camden Passage in April 2011. The beautiful location, village feel and great selection of boutiques made it the perfect choice for its first store. Home & Pantry prides itself on selling stunning bespoke but affordable home and gift ware in a unique way to customers. Staying true to Camden Passage's traditions they love creating enticing displays using antique finds from the market.
The sense of community is also what makes Camden Passage so welcoming and special. Businesses help each other out and local residents show their support by shopping locally and are rewarded with original, expertly selected products and often some local discounts too!
If you are looking for a unique shopping destination in London and a lovely place to stroll on your day off then Camden Passage is just perfect. Check out what else is on offer at the Camden Passage Website here
